Cardiff City and their manager Neil Warnock have spent a week of their pre-season training at Duchy College’s Stoke Climsland campus in preparation for the next football season.
This is not the first time Duchy College have played host to football clubs in pre-season training. Neil Warnock has previously used the facilities for a pre-season training camp with Crystal Palace, Sheffield United, Queens Park Rangers and Leeds Utd.
Team lead for sport at Duchy College, Darren Evans, said: ’It is great to welcome Neil and Cardiff City Football Club to Duchy College for their pre-season training.’
’It is also a fantastic opportunity for our new and progressing students to watch the training and get motivated for their next season. We have a strong squad next year and any tips they can pick up from a professional side will help them on their way.’
Neil Warnock, who lives nearby, said he likes to bring his football team down to the Duchy each summer as ’the facilities at Duchy College are great.’
’The players get the chance to relax in a great environment, lovely views all around and the College has got a great reputation for the students, it is a very forward thinking college,’ he said.
’We go and play two or three games in the near vicinity. The fans come down as well, we have an open day during the week and they seem to enjoy it as well. Like I say, the facilities here are second to none and I really enjoy bringing the club here to train.’
