Liskeard Athletic’s Carlsberg South West Peninsula League division one west match at Elburton Villa on Saturday, December 31, will now kick off at 12 noon.

The match was scheduled to start at 3pm at Haye Road but on Wednesday evening Elburton informed the league of the change after both clubs agreed to the switch.

Most fixtures in the Peninsula League are kicking off early on Saturday to allow players, officials and supporters time to prepare for New Year’s Eve celebrations.

The one exception in the premier division is leaders Saltash United’s game at Helston, where the home club have rejected requests from the Ashes to bring the kick-off forward from 3pm.

So Saltash face a 130-mile round trip.
