Saltash United 5 Camelford 0

Richard Maddison and Ryan Richards scored two goals each as Saltash recorded an emphatic victory over a much-weakened Camelford side at Kimberley Stadium on Wednesday night.

The other goal came from midfield maestro Sam Farrant as the Ashes moved up to fifth in the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League premier division.

Camelford’s woes were completed by a straight red card for Cornwall Youth player Charlie Hambly for kicking out at Saltash striker Sam Hughes, who was booked for his part in the incident.

Richards broke the deadlock in the third minute and it was 2-0 seven minutes later as Farrant finished off an excellent move along the right involving Maddison, Hughes and Dave Barker.

Camelford handed Saltash their third goal on a plate when a complete misunderstanding from their own free kick just inside their own half allowed Farrant to race clear towards goal.

His effort was blocked but Maddison was on hand to make it 3-0 nine minutes before half-time.

Maddison lashed home the fourth goal 13 minutes into the second half and Richards completed the scoring three minutes into stoppage time, tapping in Barker’s inch perfect cross from the right.
