Supplementary Cup Final

Downderry Rovers meet St Agnes Bolsters in the League Cup final today (Sunday, May 15, 2pm KO) in a double-header at Boscawen Park, St Dennis.

Western Inn take on Perranporth in the Supplementary Cup Final (11am KO).

Rovers’ passage into the final saw them put four past Grampound in the first round.

A 1-0 quarter-final win over champions St Dennis followed, and they followed that with a resounding 5-1 success over Wendron. Bolsters edged out Boscastle on penalties in the first round. They then hit form with two stunning results in the quarter- and semi-finals with a 4-3 win at Holmans Cruisers and an emphatic 7-2 success over Packhorse.

Unbeaten in 13 Downderry will probably go into the match as slight favourites, but this season caps a remarkable turnaround for Bolsters who last season struggled to fulfil fixtures.

The league fixture back in November saw Rovers triumph at Rally Park, with Paul Kessell and Jim Moynan notching twice, with Pete Cade and Nick Trevarthen completing a 6-1 win. Gary Campling replied for Bolsters.
