SALTASH United will be hoping to continue their excellent start to the season by having a good run in the Cornwall Senior Cup.
The Ashes have been drawn away to Illogan RBL, to be played on Saturday, October 8.
Saltash have won the prestigius trophy nine times but not since 1992-93 when they beat Launceston 3-2.
They have lost the last four finals all by the odd goal, including losing 3- 2 against Bodmin Town in the 2011-12 season, the last time they reached the final.
Torpoint Athletic are also due for a change in fortune; they have won the trophy 11 times but not since the 1995- 96 season when they beat Porthleven 2-0.
The Tamarsiders have been given a home tie against St Just.
Another club seeking to emulate past glories are Liskeard Athletic. The eight-times winners haven’t won the trophy since the 2002-03 season when they beat St Blazey, the year after St Blazey beat them 2-0.
The Blues are among 13 teams who have a first round bye.
Looe Town, who have just returned to the East Cornwall Premier League, have won the trophy three times. Indeed between the 1920-21 and 1926-27 seasons they appeared in five finals, winning three of them. Looe have a home tie against Roche.
Lanreath, Polperro, St Dominick and Dobwalls have not been too successful in the past. Lanreath are at home to Bude Town, Polperro entertain Hayle, Dobwalls travel to St Ives Town while St Dominick meet St Dennis. Callington Town, Millbrook, Pensilva and St Stephens Borough all have first round byes.
