Long time sponsors Carlsberg will not be renewing its sponsorship of the South West Peninsula League next season. T

Carlsberg, who have sponsored the league since its inception in 2007 and before that the old South Western League, says they have altered their marketing requirements for such sponsorships.

The league board is seeking a regional or national company who will benefit from the publicity generated throughout the South West area.

The league runs three divisions with 56 clubs in membership which are spread throughout Devon & Cornwall from Mousehole in the West to Axminster in the East.

The sponsor will gain from advertising at both league and club level on every match day as well as press coverage on radio, social media and newspapers throughout the area.

Sponsors also have opportunities from trophy presentations to Champions, free admission passes to games, complimentary annual presentation night tickets and promotional messages to supporters of all the clubs, players, referees etc.

A working party of league officials has been set up with a view to securing a new title sponsor and also possibly smaller partners for the league’s other awards such as Fair Play, Best programme and Best Ground awards.
