COMING into this Davis Wood Men's Hockey League South West One match off the back of a good win over Marjon B and a good performance before that, Caradon were in buoyant mood for the visit of Truro B, especially as the away side were under-manned.

Unfortunately Caradon's play did not match their spirits as poor passing and movement from the outset allowed Truro to strike early and generally dictate play.

Things improved as the half wore on and Caradon equalised by half-time from a short corner converted by Leon Farrow.

Dave Bryce put Caradon ahead early on in the second half, Neil Wallis extending the lead with a good run before slipping the ball past the goalkeeper.

Truro kept pressing and only some good short-corner defending by Steve Walsh and goalkeeper Toby Riddle ensured that Caradon's lead remained intact.

Caradon continued to press and scored the goal of the game.

The slick passing and movement that had eluded Caradon suddenly clicked and Bryce was there to finish the move and slot it into the bottom corner.

Caradon finished the scoring with a Farrow special that deceived the Truro goalkeeper with both pace and bounce to make it 5-1.

Ultimately it was a good win but Caradon will need to regain a little more of their sharpness for future games.
