Bude 1 Caradon Men 6

Caradon Men travelled to Bude with a seriously under-strength team consisting of only eight players.

Fearing the worst, the captain's pre-match team talk focused on keeping position and seeing how Bude made the most of the three-man advantage. However, within minutes this had been thrown out of the window as Caradon went on the attack deep in the Bude half. Bude couldn't cope with the pressure and it wasn't long before a Paul Luiten cross found Neil Spencer unmarked in the D for an easy goal.

At 0-1 up Caradon were a little shocked but not as much as the home side who failed to find any form as the eight-man Caradon ran riot, scoring three more goals before the end of the first half.

The half-time team talk consisted of four words – 'more of the same'. And the second half progressed in much the same way, Caradon controlling the game and Bude just failing to capitalise on their numerical advantage. Having run themselves into the ground, Caradon could only manage to score another two goals. Bude did manage a consolation goal towards the end of the game but it was nothing which could dampen the spirits of the visiting team.

This win moves Caradon Men up to second in the league and focused on this week's home game against Bodmin A.
