TORPOINT Athletic chairman Paul Whitworth has confirmed that former Liskeard managers Darren Edwards and Karl Curtis will be in charge of the club's Carlsberg South West Peninsula League Premier Division side at The Mill for the 2012-13 season.

Said Whitworth: 'The club officials were impressed with their interview, and their hopes and aspirations are certainly on line with ours.

'We are pleased with the appointment as we have a managerial duo who have now proved themselves at this level.

'We believe Darren and Karl are the right people to kick on from what Ricky (Cardew) and Paul (Stephens) achieved last season.'

Edwards added: 'We are excited at the new prospect and can't wait to start work at Torpoint.'
