LISKEARD Cougars welcomed bottom-of-the-table Newquay to Lux Park for their final home Cornwall Netball League game of the campaign and recorded a superb 41-30 victory.

Having won the away fixture by a mere four goals, Cougars knew that their opponents were more than capable of making life difficult for them.

Cougars started the brighter of the two teams, and some strong attacking play by Gabby Duffey and Vicky Ford in the shooting circle ensured an early advantage.

However, a serious finger injury after five minutes to goakeeper Lynn Webb forced an early change, with the versatile Sarah Collins taking the bib.
