SOME 120 players from across the West Country competed in the Fossils' Open competition at St Mellion.
The rain held off until all the players had returned to the clubhouse, where they enjoyed a carvery and prize-giving ceremony.
As usual, there was an extensive prize table, with awards for the top eight teams as well as the top three visiting pairs.
In addition, there were nearest the pin prizes on eight holes, as well as one for the longest straight drive and the usual 'twos' event.
Captain Robin Hancock, while presenting the many prizes, also congratulated St Mellion and its staff for presenting the Kernow Course in tremendous condition and for the enjoyable meal.
The winners on the day were the home pair of Mick Heaton and David Pover, who collected a Diamond-brite kit for cars, courtesy of Vospers.
