TORPOINT POOL LEAGUE (Sponsored by The Wheelers) WITH four League matches remaining this season, the latest round of fixtures saw the top two play what looked likely to be the title-decider. Cons Warriors started the evening level on points with Free Wheelers, ahead on frame difference but having played a game more. Free Wheelers had the match – and probably the title – sewn up after finishing the singles section 5-1 up, before taking one of the doubles for a 6-3 success. They now find themselves two points clear at the summit with a game in hand. However, Warriors can console themselves in reaching the final of both Cup competitions as they look for their 16th Knock-Out Cup triumph and their seventh Doubles Cup success against Just Standard and Kings Legs respectively, who are both appearing in their first finals.
