THE 2026 Cornwall Cricket League season heads into the final weekend with six county champions to be decided tomorrow.

While Penzance won the ECB Cornwall Premier League title and Hayle secured the County Division One crown to reach the top-flight once more, in the lower divisions clubs battled it out in both the east and west of the Duchy.

The Division Two final is at Lanhydrock as Wadebridge Seconds and St Erme both make the short trips to the picturesque ground ahead of next year’s meeting in County One.

Wadebridge have to do without several batsmen as Sam Richards and Richard Atkinson are both missing, which allows club legend Nick Yelland to make a rare appearance in the middle-order. However, skipper Paul Menhenick has a host of bowling options to his name.

St Erme – led by Cornwall Over 50s first team captain Sean Hooper – are also strong and name a full-strength side.

The Division Three decider is at Roche as Saltash, who outlasted South Petherwin to the East crown, tackle Veryan who won 13 of their 16 completed outings to edge out both Truro Seconds and Rosudgeon in the race for promotion.

The Ashes travel at full-strength, buoyed by the return of opener Huw Williams and all-rounder Ben Hutson, while Veryan have several match-winners capable of influencing the outcome.

Wadebridge Thirds’ first-ever season at Division Four level ended in a surprise promotion and they take on village outfit Barripper from near Camborne at St Stephen.

Barripper were relegated last year but have regrouped superbly to take the title, while the Swans only knew of their championship success on Bank Holiday Monday as Launceston lost at Newquay Seconds.

In Tier Three which sees matches start at 1pm tomorrow and are 40 overs, Buckland Monachorum – based just outside of Tavistock in Devon – have had a season to remember with both senior teams winning their divisions.

However, both have long trips down to the west of Cornwall on Saturday as the first team tackle Stithians Seconds at Redruth, while the seconds clash with their Crofty-Holman counterparts at Penryn and St Gluvias near Falmouth.

Saltash Seconds also secured a record-breaking promotion as the Ashes continue to develop both on and off the field.

They face a near two-hour journey down to Constantine between Falmouth and Helston for their final as Mount Hawke and Porthtowan Seconds await.

Skipper Duncan Nobes returns to their starting line-up, as does wicketkeeper Gary Turner, Alex Johnson, Joe Page and strike bowlers Andy Dore and Callum Isles-Wright,

Mount Hawke lost just one of their 15 completed fixtures to end 10 points clear of runners-up Gerrans, while the Ashes saw off strong challenges from both their South Petherwin and St Stephen counterparts to reach Division Five.

If rain intervenes then any unfinished matches will be played on Sunday (September 6).
