AN athlete from Torpoint is celebrating after receiving a £250 donation from the Mars Refuel Drink Fund.

Budding marathon-runner Kate Entwistle is putting the money towards her dream of competing in the 2013 London Marathon to raise money for charities very close to her heart.

Said Kate: 'I am absolutely delighted to have won this award. I have always wanted to compete in the London Marathon, but I have never before been selected for a place.

'My brother, who was severely disabled, sadly passed away a few years ago and I had always wanted to run the marathon pushing him in his wheelchair. I will be running this in his memory for disability charities.'
