TORPOINT Athletic will face Hayle in the final of this season's Cornwall FA Under-16 Luke Cup.

The young Tamarsiders needed extra-time to defeat Charlestown 2-1, while Hayle scored the only goal of the game at Newquay.

The date and venue for the final have yet to be announced.

Although Torpoint did not play to their full potential in front of a bumper crowd, they won the tie in the second period of extra-time with a low shot from 15 yards by Aaron Carter in the 95th minute.

Both sides had chances to take the lead in early exchanges, with Peter Whalen and Kyle Flew going particularly close for Torpoint before they took the lead in the 75th minute when Macauley Thorpe tucked away a penalty.

In the last minute, however, Clark was first to a loose ball in a goalmouth scramble and tapped home a simple equaliser to force extra-time.
