BOB Pollard enjoyed a superb September – if Looe Sea Angling Association's monthly report is anything to go by.

Not only did the 43-year-old St Neot builder's bass of 13-lb 5-oz secure a club and Cornish record, but he followed that up with a superb Blue Shark of 248-lb 1-oz to set a Cornish and British record.

The weight of the fish was calculated by measurements and it was returned alive.
