CARLSBERG South West Peninsula League side Liskeard Athletic have decided to appoint from within, as they announced that joint second-team manager Paul Blatchford will take charge of the first team at Lux Park.

Blatchford has been running the successful second string alongside Martin McHugh, taking them to promotion to the East Cornwall Premier League's top division last season.

Said chairman Roger Williams: 'We gave the situation a lot of thought and decided to go local, as it is hoped that it will rekindle the support of the people and players in the Liskeard area.'
