Callington Town's lack of fitness told as they suffered a 5-0 defeat last Wednesday night at the hands of Plymouth Argyle's youth team. Player-manager Lee Beer took the opportunity to give all of his squad a run-out, but will not be pleased that experienced skipper Fergus Nevin limped off in the first half with an ankle injury. It is to be hoped that the injury is not a bad one, as the captain will be desperately needed for Callington's forthcoming Carlsberg South West Peninsula League Premier Division campaign, which kicks off with a home match against Bovey Tracey on Saturday, August 9.
