THIS comfortable victory at Kimberley Stadium made it only one defeat from their last seven games for the Ashes, who moved up to third place in the Premier Division table as a consequence.

Saltash never let the Lillywhites settle, which meant that Tom Blackler, in the Ashes goal, had a quiet evening, with only one real save to make, a minute before the interval, when he did well to block Chris Reski's 12-yard blockbuster.

After an initial 15 minutes of midfielder play, Ashes struck with Aaron Cusack's pass finding Sam Hughes outmuscling Jordan Dingle in the area before firing across goalkeeper Jason Chapman and inside the far post.

Hughes then fired over the bar from the edge of the box, and Joe Carey's far-post header also flew over Chapman's woodwork.
