YET again, the weather affected this top-of-the-table Jolly's Drinks Cornwall Cricket League Premier Division encounter between Callington and Falmouth – and, after losing 75 minutes to rain in the first innings, the match was reduced to 44 overs a side.
The game started on time, with Adrian Noott electing to field first on an understandably damp surface.
The Callington openers started steadily enough, but found runs hard to come by against ex-Paul fast bowler Justin Stephens and George Popperwell.
Jake Libby had made a hard-earned 17 when he offered a return catch to Popperwell, and after a rain break, Matt Robins soon fell to a catch by keeper Kieron Rodda off Stephens after he had scored 39.
