THE cheers rang out at Lanhydrock as the popular Alvin Edney finally broke his duck by recording his first match win this season for the St Mellion Fossils.

Playing with Bernard Howley, the pair recorded an emphatic three and one victory.

However, the rest of the team did not fair quite so well, except the duo of Mike Nancekivell and Harold Booth, who took their match by five and three.
