Talented young musicians from across the region will get the chance to perform next week (Thursday, August 4) with the world renowned Royal Marines Band during an open air concert in Torpoint.
More than 30 young people have signed up for a summer school organised by the Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines Plymouth at HMS Raleigh. The concert at Benodet Park will be the culmination of the four day school.
The open-air event is weather dependent and is scheduled to start at 7pm and finish at 9pm. Admission will be on a first come, first serve basis and people are encouraged to bring their own blankets or chairs and refreshments.
The summer school programme features a series of workshops to allow the young people to experience a range of ensembles, from the iconic marching band to the symphonic wind band.
