A teenage footballer from South East Cornwall is one of ten in with a chance of earning a contract with Italian champions Inter Milan. Dominic Matcham, 17, from Harrowbarrow in the Tamar Valley has reached the final ten of Football's Next Star, a competition for Sky Television.
Thousands of hopefuls entered the competition which will see the lucky winner given a professional contract with the Italian giants. The original entrants went through a series of trials and a trip to the England team's training complex before the final ten were chosen. Finalists then spent a month in Italy staying in a luxury villa beside Lake Como and being put through their paces at Inter Milan's world-famous Interello academy. Former Liverpool, Tottenham and England midfielder Jamie Redknapp was on hand to mentor them during the process.
