Pensilva landed the spoils after a hard fought DJM U-16 Rodney battle at Devonport Park.

The visitors had to endure some early pressure but the 'Pen's' defensive line up coped well admirably marshalled by 'Spud' Peacock.

Midway through the first half Dan Loftus played a superb 25 yard pass into the path of Phil Lucas who cooly lobbed the keeper from the edge of the box to put the 'Pens' 1-0 ahead. They continued to threaten the 'Beacon' goal and were very unlucky when against the run of play the home side equalised with a deflected goal.

Pensilva battled on regardless but the teams remained level at the break.

After the restart the visitors piled on the pressure with Lucas causing mayhem in the home sides defence. With 15 minutes remaining a seemingly tame shot from Lucas, squirmed under the 'keepers' body to give visitors a 2-1 lead. Despite a frantic last few minutes of 'Beacon' pressure, which included a great goal line clearance from 'Spud' Peacock, the visitors were worthy winners.
