St Cleer U-14s Grenville entertained Mayflower and went down 2-1. It was a game St Cleer could have won if they had all played to their full potential. Mayflower took the lead with a goal by Swabey, 10 minutes into the game, and fine saves by Robin Brown prevented them extending their lead. Craig Hamson equalised when he drove home a loose ball after a goal mouth scramble, just before half time.

After the restart Brown made two excellent saves for St Cleer before Damarell beat two players in the area and scored a fine goal.

St Cleer forwards made little impact on a very solid Mayflower defence who had the run of the ball in this game. James Brown again won opposing man of the match award for his fine all round display.

St Cleer's man of the match went to goalkeeper Robin Brown who's handling of the ball was faultless throughout the match.

It was pleasing to see St Cleer concede only two goals, but disappointing they could not create more goal scoring opportunities.

This week St Cleer are likely to face their hardest task yet when they travel to Manstow Jets in the league cup.
