Essential winter maintenance work will be carried out on the A30 in Cornwall next week to improve safety on the Carland to Chiverton section.

The work, which starts on Monday, November 6, will involve drain and gully clearance, road repairs, line marking and barrier and sign repairs along the eight-mile section of the A30 between the Carland Cross and Chiverton roundabouts.

To minimise disruption, the annual maintenance will be carried out under a series of overnight closures (8pm to 6am) and Highways England advises drivers to allow extra time for their journeys during the week-long work.

Clearly signposted diversion routes will be in place, with traffic diverted via Quintrell Downs on November6 and via Goonhavern from November 7 to 11.

Drivers can obtain up-to-the-minute travel information by phoning the Highways England Information Line on 0300 123 5000 or by accessing the website: www.trafficengland.com
