The Porfell Wildlife Park at Herodsfoot near Looe will be welcoming some unusual but spectacular visitors later this month. The UK Wolf Trust will be bringing down three wolves from their base in Berkshire for a special wolf encounter experience at the Park on July 18 and 19. Visitors will be able to enjoy talks and close encounters with either American Timber wolves or the European wolf, all of whom are middle-aged, between seven and nine years of age. A few lucky visitors will have the chance to walk through the woods with thee animals. There will be plenty going on throughout the day. The UK Wolf Conservation Trust is a non-profit making organisation created to promote wolf conservation through education, improve its profile and increase awareness whilst helping to raise funds for a variety of wolf conservation projects worldwide. Wendy Winstanley is organising the event having joined Porfell to raise the Park's profile in order to help the sanctuary gain trust status. Wendy herself has links with wolves as she helps advise the UK Wolf Trust with homeopathic cures and alternative therapies. l For more information about the wolf days, call Looe (01503) 220211.
