The weather hit preparations for the Looe Saves The Day music festival last night.

A programme of warm-up sessions was due to take place on the main stage in the harbour car park.

The sessions started but then had to be called off because of the wild weather.

However, festival organisers remain upbeat about the prospects for the main event which starts this evening.

A spokesperson said last night: ’We have worked hard to get the stage up and running but, unfortunately, the strong winds have forced us to postpone the remainder of the performances this evening. There were gusts well above 60 mph.

’We are sorry but safety comes first . Everything was working well and the sound was amazing... as were the first band Three Minute Warning.

’The weather is looking much better for tomorrow and the fun starts at 6pm.’
