Cornwall Council has confirmed there will be no rubbish and recycling collections on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.
Rubbish due to be collected on Christmas Day will be collected on Wednesday, January 1; recycling and garden waste will be collected on Saturday December 21.
Rubbish due to be collected on Boxing Day will be collected on Thursday, January 2 with recycling and garden waste collected on Saturday, December 28.
Waste and recycling will be as usual if your collection is due on any other day of the week over the Christmas period. The time of collection may be earlier or later than usual, but as long as you have your bins and recycling (and garden waste if you subscribe to this service) out by 7am, it will be collected.
Waste and recycling collections will continue as normal from (and including) New Year’s Day.
The Council will collect real Christmas trees (under 6ft) for composting on the weeks beginning January 6 and January 13 on the alternate week to your recycling collection. Place your tree out for collection beside your rubbish.
Household Waste and Recycling Centres are open every day from 9am to 4pm except on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
