Liskeard and Wadebridge braved the cold conditions to contest this re-arranged fixture. The hosts were looking to continue their 100 per cent start to the campaign, whereas Wadebridge were determined to avoid a repeat of the 6-0 scoreline that Lis-keard subjected them to in a Cup game earlier in the season.

The visitors stood firm for the first ten minutes, frustrating Liskeard at every turn, until the hosts finally got the breakthrough.

Imogen Cooper won the ball in midfield and played it to Lisa Pearce, who placed her low shot in to the corner to break the deadlock.

Liskeard doubled their lead before half-time thro-ugh a superb individual effort by Ezme Wells. The home side became a bit more clinical in the second period, with Wells netting her second early on and Cooper getting herself on the scoresheet after a great first touch took her away from the defence to allow her to tuck it in the bottom corner.

This sparked Wadebridge into action – and the great work of Elle Rowe, Ella Blatchford and Molly Walsh was undone as the visitors reduced the deficit.

The goal did not deter Liskeard from their attacking football, though, and they ended the game with a flourish as Melissa Sheppard joined the attack. First, Pearce went round three players before wrong-footing the goalkeeper with a sublime finish.

Wells then completed her hat-trick, following in the rebound from her own corner, before Pearce repeated the treble feat with a long-range effort.

Liskeard now go in to the Christmas break at the top of the League and with their 100 per cent record intact.
