We'll send your message to Kosovo - Help our lads in Pristina get some reading material
The Cornish Times is supporting a plea from Pelynt parents, Kenneth and Rachael Reynolds-Smith, whose two Parachute Regiment sons are serving in Kosovo.
Their sons, serving with the NATO peacekeeping forces near Pristina, have contacted home asking for paperback books and magazine to be sent out to them, to help while away the off duty hours.
Lieutenant Danny Matthews, presently the youngest officer in the British Army at just 20 years old, and serving with 1 Parachute Regi-ment, told his mum and dad that he and the lads have no reading material, and would particularly like to receive some 'thrillers'.
Brother Private Lee Matthews, a P T Instructor with 3 Paras, who has represented England at the world kick boxing championships, would also like to receive books for his Regiment.
So far the brothers have been pleased to be able to see each other during the conflict.
Other local soldiers serving with the Paras include Private Michael Cole, son of Cornish Times receptionist Brenda Cole
Suitable reading material for our local boys in Kosovo can be brought to the Cornish Times offices in Bay Tree Hill, Liskeard, or can be delivered to Mr and Mrs Reynold-Smith's home at 39, Richmond Road, Pelynt, near Looe.
The Cornish Times will also be happy to print family messages to members of the forces who are serving in Kosovo.
If you have a message to any family member who is stationed in Kosovo please send it to the Cornish Times Editorial Department, not forgetting to give your name and address, the name of the person you wish to send the message to and their regiment and where they are stationed. Send a picture too if you wish.
We will then print it in the next available paper and make sure copies of the paper get to Kosovo.
