A NEW community bus service is calling for volunteer drivers to help serve Saltash and the surrounding areas.
The Saltash Hopper, a 16-seater minibus with a wheelchair lift, is expected to begin service later this month.
Saltash Gateway CIC, who procured the bus thanks to grants from Cornwall and Saltash councils and the NatWest Community Fund, is in the process of determining routes and timetables.
Volunteer Cornwall (VC) at Truro and Liskeard is now recruiting volunteer drivers, and carrying out checking and training.
All applicants will be CRB checked and required to undertake a Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme course (MIDAS) and safeguarding training course (at no cost to the applicant).
There is no limit to the maximum number of volunteers who can apply.
