SOUTH West Water has announced that the average water bill is going up by one per cent – above the current rate of inflation which is running at virtually zero.

The water company said the average household bill for water and sewerage services in the region would be £488 in 2016/17 compared with £483 in the current financial year.

The exact new charges paid by customers from April 1 will vary according to the services they use, their tariff, the rateable value of their property or the amount of water they consume.
