The Met Office has warned that the weather across the South West will grow colder tonight and into the early hours of Saturday, with showers turning wintry in some locations.

During the evening and overnight blustery showers will continue to move in from the west, with clearer spells occurring in-between. These showers will turn wintry over the higher ground bringing the risk of a few icy stretches on roads. The minimum temperature will be 0°C but more generally across Cornwall the temperature will be 4-5°C.

There will be a cold start to Saturday with the chance of a localised frost in some rural locations. There will be some sunny spells through the morning, with scattered showers once again through the day but with skies becoming increasingly cloudy through the afternoon. The maximum temperature will be 11°C.

The weather will turn more blustery into Sunday, with extensive cloud and perhaps some patchy outbreaks of light rain at times, before it turns drier and brighter on Monday and Tuesday, with sunny spells and temperatures turning warmer.
