Author, Michael Morpurgo will tell his powerful story of young Albert and his beloved horse Joey at Pentillie Castle, near St Mellion, on Sunday (July 2).

The writer’s famous story War Horse is seen through the eyes of Joey, who witnesses the pity of war on both sides of the trenches as he moves from life on a farm in peaceful Devon to the devastation of the Western Front in the First World War.

Michael will be joined by former War Horse National Theatre songman, Ben Murray, who accompanies him with the songs specially composed by John Tams for the National Theatre’s award-winning production of War Horse.

It will raise money for Morpurgo’s charity Farms for City Children.

Tickets are available from Farms for City Children on 01392 276381 or for this week only from the Pentillie office 01579 350044.
