ALTHOUGH living outside the town I'd like to say how I totally agree with Mr and Mrs Crabtree (Letters, September 10) regarding the planned housing estates in Liskeard. I constantly travel from Trewidland to visit relations on various estates in the town and the traffic congestion, especially in Station Road, is at times beyond belief. It's okay to build the houses, increase the town's population but turn away offers of a bowling alley, cinema and shopping complex, and suggest an edge of town Travel Lodge is to quote 'not good enough for Liskeard'. Do the councillors live in a land of fantasy behind the doors of Luxstowe House? They should walk the streets and talk to the community, get their feelings and opinions. This was such a good town years ago, but now even the locals are unsure where to look for a public convenience which is still open. Perhaps they could call in and use the ones, of which you probably have plenty, at Luxstowe Offices.
