I am appealing to anyone in the Pound Street area who may have information about a cat missing since February 11. Bessie is a large elderly long-haired tabby who has never strayed further than the garden in the last five years. It is highly unusual for her to have disappeared leading me to believe that she may have taken herself off to die as cats sometimes do. Vets, Cats Protection League, etc. have no news. I would welcome any information that resolves this mystery as I have an anxious two-year-old to whom I have to explain the situation adequately.
