Fund-raisers are planning to continue a unique swimming challenge after its successful staging last year.
Swimmers have to navigate the waters between Looe Island and the mainland in the event.
The distance from the beach on Looe Island to the beach in East Looe is a little over a mile.
Last year, 67 people took the plunge in the first sea swim event of its kind, which drew widespread support from the Looe community.
This year’s event, like last year’s debut, will be organised by the Rotary Club of Looe Valley and raise funds for the Plymouth-based Chestnut Appeal, which funds research into prostate cancer and helps care for people who have the condition and their families.
The event is on Sunday, September 8 with registration from around 2pm.
All ages and abilities are welcomed, but organisers ask that swimmers are confident that they are able to swim a mile.
