The Rail Union RMT has confirmed it will be holding an event in Plymouth on May 13 in support of its campaign to Bring Back The Buffet on Great Western Railway services.

Great Western Railway (GWR) has removed the buffet car from all of its new Intercity Express Trains, which serve routes from London to Wales and the South West – a move which RMT always argued was a retrograde step.

The event will link up workers along the GWR routes, including Plymouth, who are demanding that the buffet car be reinstated. RMT will be rolling out the #BringBackTheBuffet campaign on a national basis.

High Speed Trains are being replaced with bullet-style Intercity Express trains and the last High Speed Train will run out of Paddington to Exeter St Davids at 6.30pm on Saturday, May 18. Seats on board the last service are by reservation only.
