RESIDENTS and businesses in Cornwall are again being urged to be alert to fire safety as two more fire service strikes take place.

Firefighters in the county are due to take industrial action today November 1) between 6.30pm and 11pm and on Monday between 6am and 8am.

Fire Brigades Union members in Cornwall are expected to participate in the strike action as part of a national protest against changes to pensions.

The fire service in the county has plans in place to maintain minimum levels of cover and is urging everyone to take extra care and to think about fire safety.
