A couple have proved that two heads are better than one when it comes to fund-raising.
Debbie Jenkins, 41, and her husband Darren, 43, both went under the clippers at the same time to support Cancer Research UK.
‘Darren’s father has recently been diagnosed with cancer, so we wanted to show our support and raise some money,’ said Debbie.
‘My hair has been donated to the Little Princess Trust to make wigs for kids going through chemotherapy, and we have raised around £1,000 for Cancer Research.’
Debbie and Darren, who live in Polbathic, staged the event in public at their local pub, the Halfway House, and hairdresser Rachel Hutchinson gave time on her day off to do the deed.
‘The pub were brilliant in giving us support – they had live music and made an event of it,’ said Debbie.
‘I think Darren is loving his new look as he’s a builder and he had been feeling the heat.
‘I’m just about getting used to it – I’ve never had short hair before so I have cold ears!’
Debbie and Darren hope that people will support their efforts by making a donation to Cancer Research.
