Two teams of 10 competed for the Bake-Hatchlands challenge trophy, fishing over Bake for the first time.

Starting off in near perfect conditions, the action was fast and furious for the first hour. As the wind rose and the showers came in, things slowed down and at the end of the six hours' fishing, only two had caught their six-bag limit, although all but two had caught fish.

Winners were Bake having the home advantage with a total bag weight of 96 lbs 6 oz to Hatchlands 73 lbs 10 oz.

The heaviest fish was caught by Richard Lister with a cracking 11 lb 4 oz rainbow trout.

Bake Lakes are open 363 days a year (not Christmas or Boxing Day) from 8 am to dusk.
