TV cameras have been paying Liskeard a visit to film the town’s latest gourmet treat - fried ice-cream.

The delicacy is made using a technique called freeze-frying on special metal plates chilled to -22c at the Treat Yourself shop in Pike Street.

Treat Yourself is the first shop in Cornwall to offer fried ice-cream, for which customers choose their own ingredients for assembly on the chilled plate.

Now a news team from ITV Westcountry has been conducting a taste test in the sunshine - with a more or less universal thumbs-up from the volunteers.

The report is scheduled to feature in this evening’s bulletin on ITV from 6pm.
