PUPILS at Bishop Cornish School organised a sale at the school on Friday afternoon in order to generate funds for the tsunami appeal. The pupils had seen coverage of the disaster over Christmas and were keen to get involved, raising a total of £650 with the help of teachers and parents. Headteacher, Jenny Thomas, said that the idea had come from the children themselves. They collected goods from bric-a-brac, books, fancy goods, toys and cosmetics, while parents made cakes and buns for the cake stall. The school was delighted with the effort involved and with the numbers who packed into the school hall to support the effort.
