A fleet of bikers escorted the funeral cortege of a fellow rider to pay their respects.

The bikers rode to St Nicholas and St Faith Church in Saltash on Wednesday afternoon to pay tribute to fellow biker Paul Anthony Paris, 41, of Liskeard, who died after his motorbike was in collision with a grey Peugeot on the A38 near Menheniot earlier this month.

He suffered serious injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital where he died early the next day.

This week, bikers lined the entrance to the church in Saltash and were bearers of Mr Paris's coffin.

The service, in a packed church, was taken by the Rev Alan Butler, team vicar of Saltash who also gave the address.

Bikers then escorted the cortege to St Stephen by Saltash Cemetery for a private burial service.

Mr Paris's family have thanked relatives and friends for the kindness and sympathy they have shown.

In a moving message, his daughters, Shannon and Abigail, wrote: 'Now that you're gone, Daddy, who will take us swimming and who will ride our bikes with us? Who will take us to town, Daddy, and who will walk Ruby and Paige with us?

'Now that you are in heaven, we have picked the brightest star in the sky and we know that every time we see it you will be looking down on us.

'We love you, Daddy, and now that you are gone, who will sing us a song and who will tell us a story?

'Oh Daddy, where have you gone? We love you, Daddy, goodnight, sleep tight, and most of all, Daddy, don't let the bed bugs bite. Love you so much.'
