Some businesses are offering to pay customers' parking charges in a bid to attract shoppers.

Traders and residents fear new parking charges will drive people away from town centres.

Miners Home Appliances and Health and Happiness (left), both in Liskeard, have responded by offering a 40p discount – equivalent to the first hour parking charge – to customers spending over a certain amount.
