The family of a seven-year-old girl who lost her life during atrocious winter weather have said townsfolk are welcome to pay their respects tomorrow, when her funeral takes place.

The cortège for Maisie Duncan will set off from Bay View Road, East Looe at around 12.40pm, proceeding slowly along Barbican Road to St Martin’s Church.

Maisie’s family have said they would welcome anybody in the community who wants to show their respects by lining the route.

The funeral service is at 1pm.

After the service, Looe Mayor Cllr Armand Toms will read a statement from the family expressing heartfelt thanks for the enormous support the community has shown to the family and for the tributes to Maisie.

The family say they want to have a record of the extent of the fantastic community support so Maisie’s twin brother Charlie can see it when he’s older and better able to understand the depth of feeling expressed by townsfolk.

People are asked to wear something pink, Maisie’s favourite colour.
