Organisers are hoping that between eight and ten thousand people will turn out for the the 106th Liskeard Show tomorrow.
The show, which is held at Merrymeet, is expected to attract more visitors than attended last year's wet and muddy event.
'The tents are all up and all we need now is some good weather to bring in the crowds,' said show secretary Alison Melhuish.
'The ground's a lot firmer than last year and preparations are coming on well.'
All of the livestock classes have attracted a high level of interest this year, with sheep exhibitors once again topping 400 entries across more than 50 classes. Beef breeds dominate the cattle classes, with South Devons and Dexters leading the list.
There are more than 500 entries in the horse and pony classes, which are dominated by entries for ridden horses, as well as 24 entries in the donkey section.
Trade stand space has been in demand once again this year, with the new homes and gardens section being well-supported.
Spaces in the shopping arcade and craft tent and the Cornish food marquee both sold out well ahead of the closing date.
Interest
In the Young Farmers section, there's been great interest in the class for decorating a pair of boxer shorts, which easily topped the entries list.
Highlights in the main ring will include Victor Pitts from Tavistock, who will be showing off the skills and expertise of his sheepdogs, along with a parade of Fordson tractors and a digger driving display.
There will be music throughout the day from four local groups, as well as a licensed bar and food stalls.
The day will end with clay pigeon shooting from 5pm, followed by a barbecue and disco on the showground at 8pm.
