Town set to
gain another
councillor
TORPOINT could be in line to gain more representation at Caradon District Council.
At present Torpoint has three district councillors but they could be joined in the future by a further representative from the town.
The town council has given its backing to a proposal being considered as part of an electoral review to have four district councillors, may be in time for the next elections.
Christmas shopping
A CHRISTMAS shopping coach trip to Truro is being organised by the Torpoint and Rame Peninsula Lions Club. The coach will leave from Torpoint School at 9.30am on Friday, November 30. Tickets costing £5 are available from Dave Rosson's Barber Shop in Elliot Square.
30mph zone
THE 30mph zone on Antony Road in Torpoint has been extended. Cornwall County Council has made an order which means the zone now starts more than 200 metres earlier on the A374 main road.
