Fundraisers make
£4000 for school
PLANS to revamp the library at Torpoint Infant School have been given a major boost thanks to the fundraising efforts of the school's parent-teacher association.
The main focus of the Friends of Torpoint Infant School's efforts in recent months has been the library project.
"An initial target was set at £2,000, however, an amazing £4,000 was raised due to the efforts of everyone involved," said Amanda Booth of the friends. "At present there are a number of development projects being planned for the school, some of which may affect the planned work in the library area. In view of this, the project has been delayed, however, the funds are now in place to pay for the refurbishment when the work begins."
Some items have already been purchased with the money raised. These include bookcases and storage furniture for the new library when it opens."
The friends, along with the local Lions, have also given money for a frog bin in the school playground.
The friends would welcome help with events and also any ideas to raise more funds for the school.
